Sport

Stable riders Mikael and Noora Forstén both have a long career in showjumping. The athletes who often demonstrate the most dedication are those who love the sport and work to see themselves improve. Mikael and Noora never cease to learn more about horses or today’s showjumping.

In order to be successful the whole team needs to be working towards the same goals. We always look for committed grooms and key personnel to make sure they are all on the same page with what our team is trying to accomplish. When members of a team have a shared goal, they will begin to demonstrate a greater dedication towards the care of our horses and to the sport itself.

Mikael has close to 2000 international victories and placings from the past 30 years. In 2008 Mikael won the World Cup Qualifier in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on SF-gelding Isaac du Jonquet. Mikael is the most successful Finnish showjumping rider on a Championship level being 11th individually in European Championships (Windsor 2009) and 13th in World Cup Final (Las Vegas 2009). Mikael has participated in two senior FEI World Championships, four senior European Championships and two World Cup Finals. Nationally he has six Finnish Championships, several other medals and many Nations Cup appearances throughout his career.

In addition to Mikael’s great experience as a competition rider he has also schooled up to international Grand Prix and World Cup level several horses since they were young. Bringing up a young, unexperienced horse is a journey full of emotions, excitement and joy. Being able to school your own horses on their way up is essential in today’s showjumping. Mikael is very consistent about a good basic training and always wants to help the horses become as good as they can. Horses brought up by Mikael are the ones like Invitation, Charleen, Melansa, Vanity, Cassandra Z, Calbay, Noble Lady, St. Germain and Nandele.

Noora has achieved a great deal of success in international shows. For several years Noora was a core element in Finnish National showjumping team, representing her country in FEI World Championships in Aachen and in two FEI European Championships. Noora has competed also on the highest level in World Cups, Nations Cups and 5* Grand Prix classes. Noora’s best results include several top three placings in international Grand Prix’s and many victories and placings in international classes. As a perfectionist Noora always looks for a well ridden, relaxed, smooth and harmonious round on her horses.

Currently Mikael and Noora aim to bring up their own bred young horses up to the international level.
