Isaac du Jonquet

”A lovely horse is always an experience…. It is an emotional experience of the kind that is spoiled by words.” ~Beryl Markham

Isaac du Jonquet has a special place in our hearts. Not only because of his tremendous sportive accomplishments but also due to his kind nature and character. Since Isaac’s arrival to our stables as a 8 year old he always was a great competitor. First Isaac was Noora’s mount and allowed Noora to jump her first big international Grand Prix classes. However we found a true partnership after Mikael took the reins over. Isaac helped Mikael accomplish his life-long dream of winning a World Cup in Amsterdam 2008 and had unprecedented success in many more World Cup qualifiers, World Cup finals, European Championships and international Grand Prix classes. In Windsor European Championships 2009 Mikael and Isaac du Jonquet were individually 11th.

Late in his career Isaac still won National Grand Prix classes and the Finnish National Championship title. There aren’t really words to describe what a special horse Isaac was but for sure anyone who had the pleasure knowing him will agree that it was a privilege to meet and ride such a horse.

Kind, athletic, scopey, light, fast, brave, smart, attentive and curious. A great jumper, companion and friend. Rest in peace.
