Sunday: 2 Grand Prix placings!

News from Moorsele

Our rides took a fabulous two placings from the Moorsele Grand Prix on Sunday. Noora and Campari did a fast double clear round and placed 5th, with Maiju and St Germain following suit with a tad slower jump-off, placing 11th.

Noora told both horses jumped really well, but especially having Campari back in business felt really well. Campari is Noora’s gorgeous and charismatic stallion, which she has mentioned as her favorite horse on numerous occasions. Lot of bad luck with injuries and accidents has kept Campari away from the shows for long periods of time, making it particularly easy to understand the joy Noora must be feeling after such a comeback!

In the 1m25 Mikael / Winnie and Maiju / Evli Nandele was seen doing unhurried, clear training rounds. In the young horse final the results were written Mikael / Calbay 0/0 and a 5th place, Noora / Carnell 0/0 and 14th, Maiju / Conquest 8 faults, Mikael / Calero 0/4 and Maiju / Cocktail 4 faults.

On Saturday there was only Maiju / St Germain placing 8th in 1m40, doing a clean first round and leaving out all together the jump-off. The young horses jumped well on Saturday, but scored each a rail down somewhere along the course.

On Friday, the first day of the event, placings were facts for Maiju with Conquest 0/0 and a 7th place in 1m30, and for Noora with Campari – clean round in 1m40 and a 11th place. Also we had 8 faults for Maiju with St Germain in the same 1m40 and a bit of drama, as Mikael and Winnie retired when Winnie stumbled after the 9th fence and Mikael hurting his hand in the landing, unable to continue. Bad luck, as the gelding had done a good job up till that point, both likewise good in Mikael being able to later continue the show.

In short, it was a nice show with good practice for the younger horses, which all are making fast progress. And the highlight, without a doubt, was naturally the 2 Grand Prix placings!
