Cannes is maybe best known as the home of the International Film Festival. For almost 10 years Cannes has also been known as the highest endowed horse show, with 1.4 million dollars already in year 2000. As Mikael is recovering from an injury, he is replaced by Maiju Mallat, who is now joining Noora on this 4th Global Champions Tour leg. Weekend: Noora and Quinault victorious in team competition.
Noora is jumping with Evli Cagliostro and Quinault, Maiju with Casandra Z and Winnie PV. ReportOn Thursday Noora jumped both her stallions and both gentlemen appeared to be in very good form. With Quinault Noora did a quickish clean round and scored some ranking points. Maiju did in the same 1m40 class an unhurried and composed clean round with Casandra. Noora changed her plans on Friday with Quinault, and took part in a high stake team competition, as Daniel Deusser withdraw his entry from one of the teams. It was a very fast competition, which was judged with Table C – faults converts to additional time. All three riders from the winning team (Noora, Edwina Alexander and Gianni Govoni) did super-fast rounds, and despite one rail down for Edwina, it was enough to take the first place. The winning team’s every rider was rewarded 2 person holiday to Mauritus, including flights and accommodation in one the world’s best hotels, Le Tousserok. Additionally there was 20.000 Euros in price money in the class. Also Maiju and Winnie were seen in the class, doing a little slower round together with team mates Henk van de Pol and Robert Whitaker. In the bigger 1m50 against the clock, Maiju and Casandra did a good round with only one rail down, erring on the entry of combination 7a. In the earlier class Noora and Quino had again a good round, but a small unlucky mistake by the stallion left horse and rider outside placings in the Table C speed class. Maijulle and Winnie had a small mis-communication at 6a, where Winnie did a refusal. The remaining course horse and rider finished in a slower pace, taking one further rail down.
