CSI2* Roggel

Stal Forstén-Pentti shows this weekend at Roggel Horse Center on CSI2* level. This is also a place frequently used by our riders as a practice arena, situated only about 50km from Guttecoven. Noora jumps with Quinault, Winnie, Vasco and Levis Son Z. Mikael’s horses are Calero, Calbay and Evli Nandele, and Maiju shows Kennzo, Ultimate, Tosca’s Lena and Cocktail.

Sunday: good rounds in the Grand Prix

Report

On Thursday the team gathered good results from Roggel. There were placings for Noora with all of her three horses: Quinault, Levisto Son and Vasco.

In a 1m40 mass class there was a staggering about 50 horses and riders in the jump-off. One of the successful was Maiju with Ultimate, doing a clean round also with Lena next to one fault for exceeding time allowed. In the jump-off Maiju had one rail down leaving horse and rider outside a placing. Noora and Vasco did a clean round also in the jump-off. On Friday morning Maiju and Kennzo went double clear in 1m35, Noora and Quino 0/4 (second last fence in second phase). On Friday-eve in 1m40 jumped Lena, Vasco and Winnie.

On Saturday morning Mikael and Calbay had one unfortunate rail down, when Maiju and Kennzo did a decent 0/4. In the following 1m35 there was more success, with Noora excelling with Quinault as 7th, followed by Mikael and Winnie as 10th, and Maiju and Ultimate on a 11th place.

On Sunday morning Maiju and Tosca’s Lena did a nice round in 1m35, with 0/4 as a result. Lena was once again fresh and jumped really well. In the 1m30 final Maiju and Ultimate jumped an excellent clear round and went to a very fast jump-off. In the jump-off Maiju and Ulti took an unfortunate rail down, but due to an excellent time placed still nicely as eighth.

In a fairly demanding Roggel Grand Prix our riders were unlucky; Mikal and Winnie made a good round, but had a rail at 4a. Noora and Vasco went clean to the very last possible place, jumping and excellent round only to have a rail on the last fence, the hindrail of a oxer, the last part of the triple combination making the last line. Unlucky! Despite the mishaps both riders did good round and Mikael and Winnie were fast enough to take a placing a few ranking points home.

Next weekend the team heads for the World Cup in Bordeaux.
