Friday - Saturday

Mikael and Nandele did on Saturday their best result so far, by taking an impressive win among 82 other horses and riders in 1m35 with jump-off. Mikael told the mare starts now finally to react the way he wants. Nandele is by no means "ready", but it feels clearly more confident with him and is gradually loosing the old tendency of just running under pressure.

Quinault was another happy story, third in 1m40, and the tricky stallion seems to be on a strong path for a hopefully impressive outdoor season. Mikael said Quino feels good, perhaps better than ever this early on the season. It's a horse, which from its natural strengths should best outdoors. As always with horses, one can only do ones best, and hope for the rest.

Despite the glorious win and placings for the other horses, Mikael felt Carnell was perhaps his real star in De Warre. The talented young horse took a placing on Friday and did an equally strong performance on Saturday. Carnell feels like a horse, which can have a really huge future if things progress in the present direction; talent, quality and enormous ease in everything related to jumping.

Friday's best result was done by Noora, who jumped with Navarro a good placing in 1m35 against the clock. Mikael placed a few places behind with Nandele.

Sunday

Mikael and Quinault

Mikael and Quinault

Mikael took on Sunday a second win in De Warre. Now the mare Nandele had changed for the powerful stallion Quinault, as Mikael did the fastest round in 1m35 against the clock.

Quinault is now hopefully doing a strong comeback towards GP-level. Mikael told that Quinault was rather satisfying back in 2006 and now the hope is that the stallion could recover injury-free to that same performance level. Quinault is a horse that is seemingly most suited for the big outdoor shows. It has a big, strong canter, which is quite difficult to control, but Mikael believes the horse could do well also indoors if the rideability improves as much as he hopes.
