FEI Rolex World CupBordeaux and the World Cup is an old love story. Right from the start in 1978, when the World Cup began, Bordeaux was part of the tour. The million citizen Bordeaux - the world's wine capital in south-west France - is the stage for the most important showjumping event this weekend. Mikko attends Bordeaux with three horses and Noora jumps the Ladies classes with one horse. Sunday: Noora third overall in Ladies. Mikko's horses are Isaac du Jonquet, Vanity and Quinault, Noora's Evli Popcorn. FridayMikael reported that all horses felt good in the morning's warm-up class, but naturally it remains to be seen how they jump later on. Isaac is jumping 1m40, Vanity jumps the 1m50 WC qualifier and Quinault is starts Saturday. Noora and Popi jumps in a 1m40 speed class. It has been a great start in Bordeaux. Noora placed 4th with Evli Popcorn and Mikael did clean rounds with both horses. With Isaac du Jonquet Mikael went an unhurried round on 1m40 level. With Vanity Mikael jumped a fabulous fast and clean round in the World Cup pre-qualifier, placing eventually 8th in the class. It was the second time Vanity jumps on this level. SaturdayMikael had an unfortunate rail down on the third last fence. Mikael told he was really, really unhappy about a last minute change of mind to ride the distance from the double combination 10 to 11 with 6 strides instead of the 5 strides he had initially planned. The horse jumped really well, but listening to good advises didn’t pay off about the jumping – unlucky! Mikael’s happier moments have been the rounds with Vanity, which has done did outstandingly on both days and Mikael told he feels the mare is ready to go some bigger class also in Vigo. For Sunday Mikael will jump only with Quinault, which will go the Accumulator with Joker class. Noora jumps on Sunday with Evli Popcorn in the third and last Ladies class.
