Leipzig CSI4*/W

It's time to start the New Year and the first competition for Stal Forstén-Pentti will be the four-star Leipzig show, where Noora jumps with Atlas and Evli Popcorn and her friend Jesssica Kürten with the young Quidana. Adding to the prestige of the Leipzig show, it features also FEI World Cup qualifying rounds in both jumping and driving and attracts many of the world's absolute top horses and riders.

Sunday: Noora placed with Evli Popcorn - read our report from Leipzig.

Friday

Noora started the show on Friday, when she jumped in 1m45 against the clock with both horses. The class featured a huge 103 horses and riders. Noora jumped a clear round with Evli Popcorn.

Later on Friday Jessica started with Quidana in the 1m40 against the clock Youngster Tour. Going very fast, Jessica and Quidana stopped the clock on the fastest time, but an unlucky rail separated them from the aimed class win.

Saturday

What was close on Friday became a reality on Saturday, as Jessica Kürten jumped to victory with Noora's Quidana in the 1m40 Youngster Tour - well done!

Later in the eve Noora jumped with Atlas an unhurried clean round in the 1m45 speed class.

Sunday

Noora jumped with Evli Popcorn a clear round in 1m45 against the clock and placed 12th.

Report

Noora participated in Leipzig on the CSI4* tour, with the Leipzig Grand Prix as its main event. In the Grand Prix jumped with Evli Popcorn, which had excelled in its class on Friday. On Saturday things didn’t go equally smoothly and Noora decided to retire after only a few fences.

Noora told she had changed the bit from Friday to a Hackamore they’ve used sometimes in the past, and now it didn’t seem to work at all.  They had quite a heavy mistake on the second fence, where after Noora decided to withdraw after only a few “control jumps”.

On Sunday Noora went back to old bit with Popi and seemed well again. They did a clean in well-sized 1m45 and finished on a nice placing.

With Atlas it was complicated. Noora told Atlas has been off shows for a while and now they seem to struggle a bit with the communication. It’s about finding the appropriate way to ride the stallion and finding a suitable bit. On Friday horse and rider had quite a few rails down and Noora admitted that the horse didn’t feel that great. On Saturday it was all much better and Atlas did a good job.

Noora’s young Quidana was the star. Jumping with Jessica Quidana was very close a class win already on Friday, with only a tiny contact spoiling a fastest time. On Saturday Jessica and Quidana was then rewarded with that class win, and a good round it was also on Sunday. An unfortunate knockdown on the seventh fence and, as Jessica went for a fast time, they had a second rail down on the very last effort. Noora told that the hot and sensitive mare seems to make a great pair with Jessica.
