Geneva CSIW / Hengelo CSI2*

Immediate professional opportunity for 2-3 grooms

Stal Forstén-Pentti is looking for 2-3 professional grooms to work at our stable and shows. We offer you a world-class environment to work at, with proper benefits to match. You should be a hard worker and social by nature. Requirements include fluency in English, age 18 years or older, and you’ll need a driving license. For more information please contact Mikael Forstén (link) or send us directly your CV with a picture.

Mikael jumps in Geneva as the Finnish represent to the FEI Rolex World Cup. The five-star show of Geneva is a very special event, featuring both a World Cup-qualifier and a final for the International Jumping Riders Club Top-10 ranked riders. For Stal Forstén-Pentti this show means the fourth consecutive year in Geneva.

Noora jumps at the same time in Holland, taking part in a two-star event with Evli Popcorn.

The jumping starts on Thursday and Friday mark another highlight, as Mikael has his 38th birthday. Mikael jumps on Thursday with Vanity in the indoor derby and with Isaac du Jonquet in 1m45. We wish Mikael plenty of gifts in form of good results.

Thursday

Mikael had a fabulous start to the show, with all clean rounds and two placings in hard competition. With Vanity Mikael placed 7th in the 1m35 indoor derby and with Isaac he jumped a double clear round in 1m45 with jump-off.

Friday - Saturday

Mikael reported that his horses had done excellently and felt like being in good form. For Sunday Mikael had one class for both horses to go; 1m40 "small final" with Vanity and the World Cup with Isaac du Jonquet.

Sunday

Mikael and Isaac du Jonquet finished Genève World Cup on an excellent 13th place bringing home also 4 valuable World Cup points. It was no easy task either, as the world's absolute top riders were on place due to the IRJC's World Ranking top-10 final.

Mikael told they had a slightly unlucky rail down on the fifth fence, where they were about the only ones to err on. The remaining course Mikael chased for a good time, stopping the clocks on the second fastest 4-faults result, only Marcus Ehning in front of him on this scale. Mikael told Isaac jumped fabulously and with better luck they could have done today even better. From Switzerland they move to England and focus on doing a good result in also London. Mikael told that within the limits of their horses' health he clearly hopes for further success on the 2007/2008 World Cup season.

In the morning Mikael jumped with Vanity in the "small final". For the 1m40 against the clock Mikael had decided to "boldly go where no man has gone before, and chose shorter turns than most other competitors. It was a bit of a gamble, which unfortunately didn't pay off. It was shame though, as the spicy mare that had been so long resting due to health woes, did an excellent job in Genève. Especially on Friday Vanity did an outstanding round on a demanding course.

In the Netherlands Noora and Evli Popcorn jumped the Hengelo Grand Prix on one rail down.
