Incoming weekend is the 69th time Wiesbaden has invited the show jumping's elite to compete at the castle grounds of Wiesbaden-Biebrich. The International Whitsuntide Horse Show of Wiesbaden is also the second stage of the Riders Tour -series. Stal Forst?n-Pentti is represented in Wiesbaden by Noora. Mikko competes this weekend in Silverstone, UK, in the Ferrari Challenge Europe.
Noora has with her in Wiesbaden Navarro, Campari and Quintos. Quintos is travelling to Wiesbaden mainly to get acquainted with the people and vice versa. The Wiesbaden show starts on Saturday and continues until Monday. The Riders Tour -classes are broadcasted on German television. FridayThe Wiesbaden show is a spectacular scene, with the impressive Bibricher castle as the surroundings. All is fine, people and equine all settled safely for the incoming weekend. Tomorrow Noora starts with Campari in the 1m40 Youngster Cup at 1130. Quintos and Noora make their d?but in 1m45 at 1415, which is also the official opening class of the event. In the 1m55 Riders Tour Team event, Championat Von Wiesbaden, Noora competes with Navarro. This class is scheduled for 1700. In Silverstone and the Ferrari Challenge Europe, Mikko has succeeded very well in the training and first qualifying session. Mikko was fastest in his group, effectively taking the pole position, and overall he starts on a sixth position in the grid for the first race tomorrow, Saturday. Mikko's time in Silverstone was 1.28.5 and Mikko considered it to be a very satisfying result. SaturdayMikko finished today's and the weekend's first race on a splendid third place! This despite Mikko's Ferrari was suffering from engine troubles of unknown origin all day. Mikko's car was slightly damaged in an incident during the morning's qualifying session. The Saturday qualifying session decided Sunday's starting position so Mikko will unfortunately have start on the back of the grid on Sunday, but is still hopeful to gain good ground during the actual race. Noora had a difficult day! The rain had poured down all night and continued the same during the day. Campari slipped when taking of for combination 8a, with the result of skidding straight trough the fence. Noora and Campari got to continue after the fence was rebuilt and finished the course on a total of 14 faults. Quintos, Noora's new horse, had to make the d?but with Noora in the worst possible conditions. Noora and Quintos started well, but in the last moment in front of fence 4 Quintos made a sudden refusal, with Noora continuing her path to the ground. Noora told the incident was a direct result of their short partnership; she was overworking the distance between fences 3 and 4 and they ended up too close to fence 4a, the careful horse didn't want to risk it and the rest is history. With two less than perfect runs under the belt Noora decided to follow her trainers, Henk's recommendation, and did not start in the 1m55 Wiesbaden Championship. Very difficult conditions and an already fairly well-sized course for Navarro, and it made more sense to take instead a fresh start tomorrow. On Sunday Noora starts with Campari in the second qualifier for the Youngster Tour and with Navarro Noora participates in 1m50 winning round. Let's hope for better weather - and luck! SundayNoora's bad luck didn't seem to give a break. Campari lost his other front shoe after the second fence. The course was still damp and slippery from all the rain. Noora hesitated, but considered it safe to continue. But with little proper grip the remaining course became as difficult as the result indicated, an error on the water and 3 rails down is hardly the average result for the careful Campari. Noora told that after a chat with her trainer Henk, they made the rational decision to pack horses and gear a day early, with the heading of Guttecoven and prepare for the next event. Next weekend Stal Forst?n-Pentti, with Noora, Mikko and Thomas, jumps in the Copenhagen Nations Cup. And, we hope to bring you better news then! In Silverstone, in the weekend's second race on Sunday Mikko had unfortunately to retire after a crash. The car was still not performing up to par and starting from the back of the grid, Mikko was consequently pushing a bit beyond safety, eventually damaging the car and retired. But let's not forget the third place Mikko took on Saturday! That was an excellent result for the Finnish rookie, who can now look forward to the next race with confidence, when the series continues next month in Spa!
